Does the booster affect transmission of the virus or only severity of symptoms?

We have public school board meetings on our school campus after hours. Can you confirm whether the mandatory K12 school masking requirement applies to public meetings held on school grounds or would that not apply for after-school public meetings?
Lisa Spiegler

Also - if there is time - can you review how we are supposed to report middle school cases in SPOT? I know there has been a change since our last meeting. Thank you!

Since winter break, our middle school PE classes have not been dressing out. Is it ok for them to start dressing for PE?

We've had several students test positive after receiving their second or booster dose. Is this coincidence? The vaccine does not effect test results, correct?
Kathy Rooney

Are spectators allowed for indoor sports yet?

I have a similar question for staff (all vaccinated) when students aren’t present… prior to the mask mandate the policies were that when students are present everyone should be masked, but when not it was OK to be unmasked undoors

Here is our current recommendation for public agency meetings: http://64.166.146.245/docs/2022/BOS/20220208_1932/48442_PHO%20meeting%20recommendations%20updated%202-2-22.pdf

For asymptomatic close contacts, the grid says this: "Asymptomatic students and teachers/staff who arefully-vaccinated, or with previous lab-confirmedCOVID in past 90 days do not need to quarantine, buttesting is still recommended 5 days after close contact." For teachers/staff, should this apply ONLY to those who are "up to date" on their vaccination? In other words, does that guidance apply to a fully vaccinated staff member who is eligible for a booster but hasn't yet received it?

Changes to OB Surge reporting for Schools:• No change to reporting of Outbreaks for Elementary Schools.• For Middle and HS please report GRADE and add classroom/period if available.• If unable to report classroom and period, please report grade only and total number of students in the grade being reported. (Ex: 300 students in 9th grade)• A School Investigator will provide you with the EE# for each grade, this EE# will remain open to add all cases reported during that month of reporting. If you are already registered in SPOT please submit any subsequent cases for the same grade and month into the existing EE# provided.

Just to clarify on the mask mandate change effective Feb 15, meetings on a school campus where children are not present, fully vaccinated and boosted staff do not need to wear their masks. But vaccinated and not boosted but eligible staff must continue to wear their mask?
